Bio
Gabe was born in Granger, Texas the son of Gabriel and Emilia Horak. He died at a local hospital in Sherman, Texas. He attended school in Granger and moved to Sherman in the 1930's. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Germany. After the war he returned home and purchased his father's farm in the Dorchester, Texas area and was a full time farmer and cattleman until his retirement in 1976. On 14 November 1959 he married Mary Fallon Dent in Sherman. He was a member St. Mary's Catholic Church of Sherman. Left to cherish his memories, he was survived by his wife of Sherman; a son, John Dent of Strood Kent, England; three daughters, Carol Ann Dent and Susan George of Sherman and Mary Dent of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Oldrich Horak of Dallas; three sisters, Mary Martinek of Tioga, Texas, Rose Rejcek of Dorchester and Bess Tydlaska of Dallas; and six grandchildren. A rosary was recited by St Mary's Deacon James Adlof at Waldo Funeral Home chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Mary's with Reverend Mark Seitz of the Holy Trinity Seminary, Irving, Texas officiating, assisted by Deacon Adlof.
