Bio
Joyce Elaine Ellison King passed away at Baldwin Health on Thursday, December 19, 2024 with family by her side. She was born in Foley, AL on November 2, 1938 to Floyd Louis Ellison and Irma Ellen Hankins Ellison. She was a graduate of Robertsdale High School, life long resident of Rosinton, Alabama, and was married 64 years to her late husband Robert E. King. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Rosinton Community Church, loved Jesus, and held strong in her faith. Momma worked at South Baldwin Hospital for 30 years. Momma loved to read cookbooks, christian books and novels, play her piano, and sit on her screen porch where she would listen to the beautiful song birds and watch the wildlife that visited her yard. God rest her soul. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert E. King and her brother Floyd Burie "FB" Ellison. She is survived by her children Bob (Gloria) King, Bradley (Carolyn) King, Byron (Gail) King; Grandchildren Karin (Thomas) Harms, Jesi (Randall) Ward, Ryan King, Sarah (Travis) Powell, Candice (Nathan) Walley, Orie (Bethany) King, Katie (Dustin) Nelson; and Great-Grandchildren Henry, Josiah, Brydie, Killian, Lilly, Peighton, Evie, Waylon, Kipton, and Clark. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Rosinton Community Church with burial in the Rosinton Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church.
