Floyd Burie (FB) Ellison passed away at his home on Saturday July 9, 2022. He was born in Rosinton, Alabama, on July 2, 1932, to Floyd Louis Ellison and Irma Ellen Hankins Ellison. He was a graduate of Robertsdale High School in 1950 and was married 61 years to his late wife, Joyce Amelia Dossett. F. B. was a devoted son, husband, daddy, granddaddy and great granddaddy. He loved God, his family, his church and the rural farming community. He knew he always wanted to be a farmer like his daddy. His work ethic was instilled in him as a child and he was adamant in representing all farmers throughout his life's calling. Daddy let integrity and character be his guidelines; to love his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; to be obedient to the Word of God; to support his community by being active in school and church activities and to always vote by conviction. His home was open to all, from pastors and evangelist, to out of town relatives and friends. Each of which loved putting their feet under his and momma's dinner table and sharing food and fellowship which brought daddy much joy. Daddy believed God always had a calling on his life because of his upbringing by Godly parents, Sunday school teachers and most school teachers who believed in Jesus. Daddy also loved to pull a prank on any unsuspecting or suspecting targets. No one was exempt. If you're reading this and giggling, you were probably a victim!! He loved coaching his children in their sports, teaching countless youth to water ski on the Little Lagoon and pulling the gill net for fresh mullet. Daddy was influential in many church, community, and civic organizations. Many solutions and ideas have been created sitting on a tractor seat while breaking ground, planting and harvesting. He never stopped farming. Every day he wanted to know all the happenings on the farm and was interested in all the daily plans. F. B. served in the United States Army as Military Policeman from 1956 to 1958. He was on the Board of Directors of Citizen's Bank from its beginning from 1981 to 2017. He served on the Board of Directors of the Baldwin County Farmers Association for 35 years and the State Board of Directors of ALFA for two terms. He was a Director on the Baldwin County Cattle and Fair Association for countless years. He served on several committees for church, school and community needs. His most recent involvement was with the Rosinton Landmark District. He is survived by his children, Burie (Devanie) Ellison, Rosellen (Judd) Coggin and Dawn (Glenn) Hopper and his sister Joyce Elaine Ellison King; Grandchildren Tiffany (Late Joe) Driver, Brittney (Aaron) Comstock, Brady (Kendra) Ellison, Judd (Stephanie) Coggin, Kristin (Adam) Wasdin, Roselee Coggin, Louis (Kaitlyn) Coggin, Dylan (Christen) Hopper, Dustin (Casey) Hopper and Destry (Kelsey) Hopper; and Great Grandchildren, Brooks, Trent, Teagan, Eli, Cade, Ava, Tucker, Emily, Parker Burie, MacKenzie, Morgan, Noah, Payton, Brice, Gaige, Sawyer, Ellison, Clarke, Chloe, Mason, Gavin and Margaret. Visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 2022 at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale, Alabama from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Rosinton United Methodist Church, interment immediately following.
