Maurice Level Bennett May 14, 1948 - November 6, 2024 Maurice Level (M.L.) Bennett, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 10, 2024 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Dan McCoy and John Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Sweetwater Cemetery directed by McCoy Funeral Home. M. L. was born May 14, 1948 in Abilene, Texas to Clarence O. and Nannie Mae (Haynes) Bennett. He married the love of his life, Nita Bailey, on November 20, 1964, (60 years) in Sweetwater, Texas. In his early years M. L. worked for Tex-DOT for a short time. He then became a heavy equipment operator and continued until his retirement. He worked for M&B Construction, T&R Roustabout, Hawkins Doziers and others during his career. He loved to sing and listen to good music. He always loved his family and enjoyed spending all the special time he could with them. Nita said that M.L. had another family he loved and enjoyed spending time with... it was his Whataburger coffee drinking family. He looked forward every morning and evening meeting his friends for many years. The feeling was mutual with his Whataburger family. They loved it when M.L. entered the building. He will be dearly missed by all. M.L. is survived by his wife, Nita Bennett of Sweetwater; three sons, Stacy Bennett and wife Dora Mae, Bobby Bennett and wife Kit and Daniel Bennett, all of Sweetwater; five grandchildren, Casey Bennett, Bradley Bennett, Leslie Ann Bennett, Christa Kay Bennett, Stetson Kobe Bennett; great-grandchildren, Nicole Grace Bennett, Jamie Marie Bennett, Clayton James Tillery, Caitlynn Michelle Tillery, Brayden Lee Hebert, Kayleigh Ann Hebert, Finnley Joyce McInnis, Arianna Giselle Ruiz, Audrey, Genevieve Ruiz and Luke Ryan Gibson.
