Bio
Audrey Gerald Bennett was born in Cross Plains, Texas on October 22, 1937 to Clarence and Nannie Maye Bennett. He died in Bonham, Texas July 15, 2020 at the age of 82. Audrey attended Cross Plains Schools before enlisting in the United States Navy at the age of 17. During his time in service, 1955-1959 he was stationed in San Diego, Hawaii and Philippines. He married Mauridell Hutton January 6, 1962 in Leonard, Texas. Audrey was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mauridell who passed away in 2013; brother Clarence Derwood Bennett of Maysville, NC. He is survived by son, Eddie Bennett and wife, Jennifer of Leonard; daughter, Sheryl Stanley and husband, Gary of Leonard; brother, M. Level Bennett of Sweetwater; 5 grandchildren, Dakota Stanley, Angela Brown, Lindsey Clem, Justin and Aaron Bennett; and 8 great-grandchildren.
