Hiram was s/o Joseph Palmer McGill (1833–1886) and Julia J Allen (1830–1911). b abt. 1856 Perdido, Baldwin County, Alabama, USA d before 1866 Perdido, Baldwin County, Alabama, USA He was his parents' eldest son and named after his paternal grandfather, Hiram McGill (1794-1873). Hiram was listed as a 4-year-old child on the 1860 US Federal Census. SOURCE: "1866-AL-State Census" Hiram is not listed with the other children - He would have been abt 10 years old. I conclude he d before the 1866 Census.
