GREENSBORO - Mrs. Mary Ann Nickel, age 87, of Greensboro, NC died Wednesday, June 26, 2024. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church where she was a member for 33 years. A visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Mrs. Nickel was a lifelong volunteer for her church, and was incredibly involved in St. Francis Springs Prayer Center in Stoneville, NC. She also enjoyed playing bridge and tennis. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Nickel is survived by her son, Gary Nickel and his wife, Pamela of Cedaredge, CO; daughter, Paula Cloyd and her husband, Charles of Prosperity, SC; son, Rick Nickel and his wife, Karen of Winston-Salem, NC; sister, Amalie Wilson and her husband, Neil of Oklahoma City, OK; sister Lillian Kolar and her husband, Stanley of Arcadia, OK; grandchildren, Christine, Kelly, Alison, Jamie, Garrett, Bryan, Rachel, Megan, Michael, Molly, Dalton and Ian; and, great-grandchild Benson. Mrs. Nickel was preceded in death by her loving husband, James J. Nickel. Interment will be in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel is serving the Nickel family. Visitation was held July 2, 6:30-8:30 pm at the Forbis & Dick Funeral Service - Guilford Chapel, 5926 W. Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, North Carolina. ∼ Notes: Full body interment. Her cemetery service was held July 9, 2024, per cemetery.
