Frank Joseph Elzner, 78, Malin, died Saturday from injuries sustained in an auto accident Nov. 15. Elzner was a Malin area homesteader in 1922. He farmed nearly all of his life. Born in Czechoslovaki in 1892, he came to the United States in 1904, settling in Byran, Texas. He served in the armed service in World War I in both England and France. He joined the American Legion in France and continued to be a member of that organization for 52 years. Elzner was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ethel Elzner, in 1969. Survivors include sons, Franklin, Klamath Falls, Lincoln, Malin; daughters, Mrs. Ival (Mary)Taylor, Tulelake, and Mrs. Wayne (Emily) Loerke, San Bruno, Calif.; brothers, Stanley and Joe, Houston, Tex., Pete, Crockett, Tex., Tom, Taft, Tex., and Jerry, Corpus Christi, Tex.; sisters, Mrs. Frances Smolda, Houston, Mrs. Rob (Lottie) Ramey, Richmond, Calif., Mrs. Agnes Vurge, Saudi Arabia, and Mrs.Annie Spencer, Corpus Christi; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. ************** son Franklin W.
