Irene Cepak Martinek, age 82, of Ennis, Texas, went to meet her Heavenly Father on September 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born June 7, 1942, in West, Texas to Rudolph J. and Lillian M. (Petter) Cepak. Irene grew up in West on the family farm with her ten brothers and sisters. On November 11, 1961, she married the love of her life, Marvin Martinek, and they made their home on a farm in Ennis, Texas. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and KJZT Society. Irene loved to dance, especially polkas, sew, and garden. In1992, she quit work and in 1998 took up the job of helping to raise her grandchildren. Her family was the love of her life. Irene leaves behind her loving husband of over 62 years, Marvin Martinek; son, Billy Martinek and Jill Winters; daughter, Janet Nicolaysen and her husband, Dan; daughter, Vicki Wagoner and husband Max; grandchildren: Andrew, Hannah, Sarah Nicolaysen and Kevin Wagoner; brothers: Frankie Cepak and wife, Evelyn, Harry Cepak and wife Madelyn, Jerry Cepak, Danny Cepak, Ricky Cepak and wife, Julie; sisters: Lillian Divin and Helen Ray and a host of extended family and friends. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Rudy Cepak; two sisters, Mary Ann Roznovsky and Lucy Mikula, brothers-in-law: Johnny Divin and Daniel Roznovsky. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
