Bio

Clara Holland was born to Jacob Holland of Alabama and his wife Mary Adelia Caldwell Holland, also of Alabama. Her family moved to the Reliance Community in Brazos County about 1883. Clara was the twin sister of Carrie Holland Bryan. She married Onie McCarty Hopkins September 20, 1908 at her childhood home in Reliance. She and Onie had nine children. She was preceeded in death by her husband of almost 74 years, daughter Doris, her sisters and her brothers. Her children: Odis, Thelma, Mae, Neville, Hester, Lois, Mary, and Joel, as well as her many grandchildren, g-grandchildren, and gg-grandchildren join together to mourn the loss of this wonderful woman.
