[Estimated Age at Death: 66 years, 11 months] *** GALENA, Kan. - Mrs. Iva Mitchell, 66, 2210 Short St., was pronounced dead on arrival at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, at 12:50 a.m. Thursday after suffering an apparent heart attack at her home. Born Jan. 13, 1906, at Galena, Mrs. Mitchell had lived here most of her life. She married Frank Mitchell, May 15, 1956, in Miami, Okla. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Jack Ford, Galena, and Bill Ford, Milwaukee, Wis.; five daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Watkins, Galena, Mrs. Allyne Cheek, Dallas, Tex.. Mrs. Fern Morey, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Helen Hudson, Pryor, Okla., and Mrs. Louise Alexander, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Fay Latty, Lakin, Kan.; a brother, John Keyes, Galena; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Allen, Parsons; 25 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Derfelt Chapel, with the Rev. Ernest Watson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rex Candy, Forest Dugan, Jerry Dugan, Jack Smallwood, Norman Anderson and George Shallenburger.
