Bio
Mirah Elizabeth Knight was born in Upshur Co., Texas the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Knight (1827-1892) and Martha Ann Sanders (1832-1880). She married Whitfield A. Wade 15 Oct. 1874 in Upshur Co. and they had five children before her death, Laura H. Wade (1875 – 1876), Agnes Maggie Wade (1877 – 1938), Joseph Jefferson Wade (1879 – 1959), Anthoney Franklin Wade (1881 – 1903), and Harvey Surestus Wade (1884 – 1980). Mirah was on horseback on her way home from Rosewood, Texas where they lived to get mail when her horse became spooked and she was thrown and suffered injuries leading to her death a few days later.
