John was born in Ben Wheeler, Texas to Nolan Taylor Gothard and Lula Pearl (McLemee) Gothard on March 11, 1939. John is survived by his Wife Elaine (Lasiter) Gothard. Children; Cheryl (Gothard) Rogers and husband Jerry, Michael Gothard and wife Susan. Brother Bobby Gothard and wife Beverly, Sister Wanda Fox and husband Rick. Grandkids; Nicole (Burks) Robertson and husband Brent, Nicholas Burks, Brady Gothard and wife Kristen, Trenton Gothard, Aryn (Bounds) Earnhart and husband Clint, Great-Grandkids; Carson Robertson, Maverick Robertson, Matthew Bounds and Evan Earnhart. John was preceded in death by his wife Maurine (Redd) Gothard, his parents, 2 brothers and 6 sisters, and stepson Darren Lasiter. He retired from a long career at National Oil Well in Garland, TX. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and gardening in Canton, TX. John was a Faithful Christian of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Wylie. John also served in the US Army.
