Pete Wesley Gothard, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, March 14, 2014, at the J & B Assisted Living in Safford. Pete was born March 9, 1928, in Ben Wheeler, Van Zandt County, Texas, the firstborn child of Lula Pearl McLemee and Nolan Taylar Gothard. Pete was predeceased by: his wives, Allie Mae Gothard and Jean Hendrix-Gothard; a daughter, Brenda Joyce; his mother, Lula Pearl Gothard; his father, Nolan Taylar Gothard; four sisters and one brother. Funeral services for Pete were conducted Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Vining Funeral Home’s Chapel of the Valley by Pastor David Chapman of the River Community Church.
