Daniel Ray Jarosek was born September 3, 1925, son of Joseph Vasar Jarosek and Hattie F. Jarosek. He died December 15, 2000 and was buried in Saint Mary's Cenetery, Taylor, Texas. During World War II he served with the 103rd Division, reporting for duty on November 26, 1943. Trained at Camp Howze, Texas and was assigned to the1st Platoon of Machine Gunners of D Company, 409th Regiment, 103rd Division. The division arrived at Marseilles, France on October 20, 1944 and fought through the Visages Mountain Campaign. He was wounded and captured in a surprise counter attack by German Tanks in Selestat, France on December 2, 1944. He was confined to Stalags XII and 9B until liberated by General George S. Patton 3rd Army in April 1945. His wife, Lydia M. Jarosek, is also buried in this cemetery as well as his parents.
