Bio

Theresa Lacey Hardin and Rev. David Wilson Hardin had one child, Lida M. Hardin, born January, 1876. Lida M. Hardin married James Ballard and had one child, Henry L. Ballard. Obituary: "Died, Thursday, September 18th, in her 63 year, Mrs. Teresa Hardin. Another link of a family chain has been severed, of which but one now remains, and beneath the soft September sun her body lies "at rest," sweet rest. Mrs. Hardin was one of those truly unselfish characters who never thought of aught but the comfort and pleasure of others. Her strongest characteristics were patience and forbearance, and never was she known to speak evil of anyone. If she could not speak well, she spoke not at all. Her last moments though intensified suffering, were filled with thoughts of others, and to each member of the family was some kind message either sent or given. May her spirit find that eternal rest for which she prayed with her last fleeting breath, and may she now be rejoicing with those whom she longed to join who had gone before." -- Okolona Messenger, September 24, 1902.
