Susan A. Winters Prestwich, 79, of Orem, long-time Pleasant Grove resident, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 surrounded by her loving husband and family. Susan was born November 8, 1928 in Pleasant Grove, one of ten children, to Arthur and Norma Sundberg Winters. She married Clifford W. Prestwich on July 31, 1947 in Pleasant Grove. Susan grew up in Pleasant Grove and attended schools there. She was the 1946 Strawberry Days Queen and enjoyed working at the Grove Theater where she met Cliff. Mom was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She made most of her daughters wedding dresses and loved making baby quilts for all her grandchildren. Cliff and Susan lived in St. George for 20 years and recently returned to Utah County in 2002. Mom was always loving and kind and her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband Cliff; seven children: Tom (Beverly) Prestwich, Mesa, AZ; Janis (Denley) Fowlke, St. George; Carol (Jim) Rogers, Cottonwood Heights; Marilyn (Roger) Holbert, Lindon; Bill (Carrie) Prestwich, Pleasant Grove; Susanne (Dave) Mower, Pahrump, NV; Paul (Kori) Prestwich, Highland; 25 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter; siblings: Alden (Gerry) Winters, Mary (Keith) Brower, Gaylon (Myrma) Winters, and Norma (Dee) Freeman. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Season Covington Schramm and William Jake Prestwich. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 12:00 noon in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Friends may call at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove from 10:00 am-11:45 am. Published in the Daily Herald on 5/10/2008.
