Katherine Ann Sherrard , 79, passed away peacefully to Heaven on the morning of January 5, 2024 after a brief illness. Kathey was born in Corsicana, Texas on March 18, 1944 to C.V. "Jiggs" and Dorothy (Windham) Jordan. She grew up in Corsicana and graduated from Corsicana High School. On November 12, 1963 she married Bill Sherrard and they were blessed to have recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. She last worked for Liberty Mutual for several years, then she worked along with her husband as they drove for various local dealerships for several years. She was a Christian all her life, and has been a member of Northside Baptist Church, where she was involved in many various church activities over the years. In her 30 years of teaching in the children's department she touched many lives. She and her husband were blessed with two children and provided them a loving Christian home. She was a dedicated mother and has also enjoyed so much being an active grandmother and great grandmother. She treasured the time with them always. She loved children of all ages and even as an aunt would bring her nieces and nephews into her home for visits and fun weekends which always included a trip to Woolworths for a new toy. Her hobbies over the years included camping, shopping, reading but most of all she treasured and enjoyed family reunions, holiday gatherings and just being surrounded by all of her family. Her caring and thoughtful heart was felt by so many and you could always count on her for anything. She was the one who came to every happy occasion in your life and the one you cried with for those times you needed a shoulder. She was the hostess of Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings and the one who always knew your birthday and anniversary. She was the family planner and made sure everyone stayed connected. Her sweet and thoughtful character will be dearly missed, as well as her unique and happy laugh. Kathey leaves a legacy of kindness and honesty that will be felt for generations to come She was preceded in death by, and now enjoying a glorious reunion with her parents C.V. "Jiggs" and Dorothy Jordan, one brother Billy Jordan and two sisters Brenda Patak Null, and Darla Capehart. The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregiver Cara for her loving care to Kathey in her last weeks.
