Bio

Tillery Dingler, a dedicated individual who served his country a member of the United States Navy, passed away on February 7, 2024. Tillery was born in Brownsboro, TX on May 8, 1939. Tillery had been a resident of New Mexico for approximately 25 years. During his military service from October 2, 1957 to September 1, 1959, Tillery showcased his exceptional skills known as "frogman," engaging in special operations that included a secret mission entrusted to him by President Eisenhower. Outside of the Navy, Tillery pursued various professions throughout his life. Tillery accumulated extensive experience as a long-haul truck driver and engaged in construction work while also serving as a crane operator. Of all his endeavors, one of his standout memories was the transportation of a train across different locations in Wyoming. Additionally, he contributed his skills within the oil industry, working on platforms in both the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. Tillery shared his life with his loving wife, Regina for 23 years. Their bond began when they met during a synagogue bible study class. They doted on their pets and animals together, caring for three cats named, Tiger, Sheba and Buddy, along with several chickens and around thirty turtles. Tillery is survived by his sister, Sonita Perkins, his nephew, Bobby Perkins who held a special place in Tillery's heart and was considered as a son figure to him. Bobby's daughters, Whitney, Presley and Taylor are also cherished by Tillery. Tillery was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bud and Maggie Beatrice Frentress Dingler and brothers, Eddie and Coye. Notably involved in the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization, Tillery held the position of DAV Commander for the State of New Mexico at one point in time. His commitment to this cause earned him numerous friends within the organization. In addition to his passion for serving others through the DAV, Tillery and his wife reveled in their shared love for gardening. Together, they nurtured an impressive array of beans, tomatoes, peppers and sunflowers. They also participated as vendors in various craft shows, including events at the Expo, balloon fiesta and numerous high schools. Through these ventures, Tillery found joy in extending kindness to others and exemplifying the values ingrained within his Jewish faith tradition. Tillery will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to duty, his love for family and friends and his steadfast dedication to helping those in need. Tillery leaves behind an enduring legacy that will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Burial will be on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM.
