Bio

Lee B. Lilliedoll was born on a farm outside of Shickley, Nebr., to Frank and Cecilia Lilliedoll, on Oct. 30, 1885. He passed away at Nelson April 20. Mr. Lilliedoll graduated from the pharmaceutical department of Creighton University in 1906. He was asked at that time to become a professional baseball player for the St. Louis Browns in the American League. However, after due consideration he decided to go ahead into his chosen profession of pharmacy. On December 25, 1908 he was united in marriage to Miss Chloa Whitmore. The couple moved to Sutton in 1913. Two children were born to this union, Jerry and Joan. Mr. Lilliedoll sold the drug store in Sutton in 1938 and moved to Omaha where he continued as a pharmacist until his retirement in 1961. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chloa; two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his two children, Jerry Lilliedoll of Washington, D. C. and Joan Sykes of Honolulu, Hawaii; one brother, Raymond of Trenton, Nebr., and five grandchildren. Services were conducted at the Kohler Chapel in Sutton Saturday morning, April 23, with Rev. Stanley Rider of the Federated Church in charge. A trio, Mmes. Shirley Syring, Kay Wach and Donna Bauer sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Garden of Prayer." Mrs. Betty Barbee was pianist. Bearers were Fred Grothe, Robert Figi, Walter Kirchhefer, Leslie Bauer, Clarence Hurst and Alex Bauer. Interment was in Sunset Gardens, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Omaha.
