Bio

Services for Moral Harris, 92, Athens, were scheduled for 4 pm Saturday at the Davis Cemetery with Dr. Ralph Phelps and the International Order of the Odd Fellows officiating. Mr. Harris died Friday at the East Texas Medical Center-Athens after a short illness. He was born Aug. 4, 1898 in Henderson County the son of Edwin and Lelah Frizzell Harris. He was a 54 years member of the IOOF and was initiated on May 6, 1937. He was past Noble Grand of Lodge No. 961 and confirmed a veteran life member in 1987. He was a deacon of the Virginia Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Celeste Harris, Athens, and Lela Ed Fannin, Mesquite; a nephew, Joe Ed West, Mesquite; and a niece, Ann Gary, Athens. Memorials may be made to the Davis Cemetery Association, P O Box 1991, Athens, Texas 75751.
