Bio

L. P. (Perry) Harris, 82, of Athens died early Friday morning in a local hosptial after a long illness. His funeral is planned for 3:30 pm Saturday in Foster and Brown Funeral Chapel with Dr. Ralph Phelps officiating. He will be buried in the Davis Cemetery near the Baxter Community. Mr. Harris was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Celeste Harris of Athens; one daughter, Mrs. Ann Gary of Athens; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Nephews will be pallbearers. They are Carl Firman Harris, Joe Wayne Harris, R. C. Harris, Wesley Charles Harris, Steven Marcus Harris and Donald Ray Harris.
