Verdigre Eagle, Thursday February 19, 1959 Funeral Services Held Monday Afternoon for Carl Boelter at Venus Funeral services for Carl H. Boelter, who passed away Friday were conducted Monday afternoon at 1:30 at St. Paul's Lutheran church of Venus. A very large gathering was present to pay their last respects. Rev. Walter H. Seefeldt was the officiating pastor. Two hymns, "Rock of Ages" and "What a Friend we have in Jesus," were sung by Mrs. Arne Pierce and Mrs. Art VonSeggern. The accompaniment was by Mrs. F.E. Pierce. Burial took place in Grimton cemetery. Pallbearers were Duane Boelter, Boyd Boelter, Kenneth Eyer, Bernard Montgomery, Max LeMasters and LaVerne Warriner. Flower girls were: Ella Boelter, Arlene Montgomery, Vivienne LeMasters, Jane Eyer, Sharon Warriner, Marie Hamilton and JoAnn Knori. Obituary of Carl H. Boelter Carl Herman Boelter, son of John and Ernestine Boelter was born on August , 1883 at Friendwalde, Germany. He came to Knox county, Nebraska with his parents when he was nine months old. He spent his entire life in the Walnut community, with the exception of four months, which he spent in Fall River county, S.D. His home was the office of the Walnut Telephone exchange for the past 20 years. He farmed until 13 years ago, but continued to operate a small acreage and raise a large garden. He suffered a fatal heart attack and passed into eternity on February 13 at his home, at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 19 days. He was baptized as an infant and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran church at Venus on January 26, 1930, where he remained as a member. On February 22, 1907, Carl was united in holy matrimony to Miss Edna Butterfield at Walnut. To this union six children were born. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three sons, Delbert of Creighton, Willis of Orchard and Francis of Page; one daughter Delores, Mrs. Elmer Kocina of Winnetoon; one foster daughter Lucille, Mrs. Elmer Alder of Emmet; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Anna McElhose and Mrs. Jake Effle of Creighton; and many other relatives and friends. Two sons preceded him death, Richard in 1929 and Julian in 1911; also his parents two sisters and one brother. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Boelter celebrated their golden wedding at St. Paul's Lutheran church on February 24, 1957.
