Scottsbluff Star Herald, Tuesday, January 29, 1946 Scottsbluff, Nebraska George Hettinger George Hettinger, 60, long time resident died at his home there Sunday. Mr. Hettinger was born March 2, 1884, at Dietel Russia, and was married there in 1904 to Effie Elizabeth Wamboldt, who survives. Mr. Hettinger and his wife came to the United States in 1906 and settled in Windsor, Colo. In 1910, Mr. Hettinger moved with his family to Mitchell, and lived there until his death. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons and six daughters: George, Fort Collins Colo., Alic and Henry, Mitchell, Herman, Lincoln, and Mrs.. Alma Weitzel and Mrs. Wiletta Pieper, both of Mitchell. Nineteen Grand-children also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2p.m., from the German Evangelical Church in Mitchell. A preceding service will be held at Fisher Mortuary there Rev. Martin Peper will officiate at both services. Burial will be made in Mitchell Valley cemetery. ********** George entered the U.S. on November 19, 1906 at Galveston. He was naturalized on September 15, 1936 at Gering, NE (Scottsbluff).
