Greeley Tribune, Wednesday, November 19, 1980 Greeley, Colorado George Hettinger George J. Hettinger, 75, Fort Collins, died Sunday, Nov. 16, at Poudre Valley Memorial Hospital, Fort Collins. He was born Sept. 26, 1905, at Mitchell, Neb. On Jan. 1, 1925, he married Mary Elizabeth Schmidt at Fort Collins. Hettinger moved to Fort Collins from Mitchell. He was employed by the City of Fort Collins in the street department for 25 years. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church at Fort Collins. Survivors are his wife, Mary of Fort Collins; five daughters, Mrs. Margie Lensen of Aurora, Mrs. Shirley Martin of Loveland, Mrs. Marion Swerer, Mrs. Dixy Schreiner and Mrs. Georgia Ackerman, all of Fort Collins, two sisters and three brothers; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins. Contributions may be made to the Poudre Valley Hospital Foundation. Russell Funeral Chapel, Fort Collins, is in charge of arrangements.
