Rockport, IN – Nellemae Patsy "Pat" Atchison, 85, of Rockport, Indiana passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky. Pat was born in Shirley, Illinois on November 17, 1937, to the late Everett and Mary (Daugherty) Burden. Pat was a lifetime member of Free Zion General Baptist Church and had been a nurse's assistant for several years. In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her children, Donald Atchison, Dewey Atchison, and Tammy Atchison; her granddaughter, Letty Laraine Atchison; her siblings, Bill Burden, Thelma Abshier, Joann Rose, Jean Cain, Orville Burden, and Dewey Burden; and her son-in-law, Barry Shourds. She is survived by her husband, Roger Atchison of Rockport, IN; her son, Everett Dale Atchison and his wife, Tina, of Lamar, IN; her grandchildren, Dale Atchison and his wife, Rachel, of Santa Claus, IN; and Theresa Shourds of Reo, IN; her great grandchildren, Reily Froeschl and her husband, Oliver; Daley Atchison, Clancy Atchison, Gracie Shourds, Mason Shourds, and Emmie Shourds; a great- great grandson coming in July; her sister, Clydean Gish. Services are 2 P.M. Friday, May 5, 2023 with Pastor Joshua Dimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Hackleman Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
