Bio
George A. Kocian, age 67, of West, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 13, 2023 at his residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. George was born May 13, 1955 in Waco, the son of Albin and Mary (Kostecka) Kocian. He was a 1973 graduate of West High School. George was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He worked as a Senior Technical Operator for M&M Mars in Waco for over 30 years before retiring in 2015. George enjoyed ranching, raising cattle, collecting historic artifacts, studying history, and watching sports. He loved spending time with his family. George is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Kocian. Survivors include his son, David Kocian and wife Andrea of Houston; a granddaughter, Amelia Kocian; his sister, Kathy Rule and husband Marvin; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Kocian; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Aderhold Funeral Home 808 South Reagan West, Texas
