May 22, 2008 Herald Banner Charles Trotter Charles Eugene Trotter, 86, of Greenville died May 19, 2008, at Colonial Lodge-Tender Care nursing facility. Services are at 10 a.m. Friday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Marvin McDaniel and Becky Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Born July 25, 1921, in White Rock, he was the son of Guy G. and Sarah Esther Rambo Trotter. On Jan. 21, 1951, he married Betty Green in Honey Grove. Mr. Trotter was a retired auto mechanic for the City of Greenville. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors are two sons, Guy Trotter and wife Dana of Caddo Mills and Roy Trotter and wife Karen of College Station; a daughter, Carrie Trotter Brazeal and husband, Clif of Lucas; sister Mildred Williams of College Station; six grandchildren, Stacey Mitchell and husband Mark, Shannon Unruh and husband Clint, Cole Wright, Craig Brazeal, Cara Brazeal and Devin Anne Trotter; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1999; two brothers, Raymond and Garland Trotter; and nine sisters, Daphine, Bernice, Lottie, Pearl, Pauline, Ophie, Mattie Lou, Frances, and Eunice. Pallbearers are Weldon Mays, Verdane Nalls, Craig Brazeal, Guy Trotter, Roy Trotter, and Clif Brazeal. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Trotter's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Colonial Lodge-Tender Care and the American Hospice for the excellent care they provided for him.
