Bio

The full name of the person buried here is Isaac Washington Horton. Isaac is the father of my paternal grandfather, Walter Hill Horotn, who is buried nearby. ----- [Sincerely, Jerry R. Horton] ____________________ DEATH OF MR. HORTON ---- Mr. I. W. Horton died at Bartlett Sept. 22, aged about 60 years. He was born in Illinois and had lived in Texas 37 years, having been a resident of Georgetown for several years. He leaves a wife and eight children, all grown. For fifteen years Mr. Horton taught school and for many years was a teacher of music, and proved an efficient one. In his younger days he sang with some of the most prominent evangelists of the Christian church, among others, Z. T. Sweeney and B. B. Sanders. --published in the Williamson County Sun , Georgetown, Texas, Thurs., Oct. 5, 1916 _____________________ ~~ Isaac was the son of Josiah Horton and Elizabeth Ann Siebert Newsom Wilhoyte Horton (death/burial unknown). Josiah and Elizabeth were married on July 13, 1856 in Bartholomew county, Indiana and were living in Marion county, Illinois for the 1860 federal census.
