Earth Counts a Mortal Less, Heaven an Angel More. DEATH OF MRS. J. W. ELLIOTT Another Good Citizen of Williamson County Passes Over the River Mrs. J. W. Elliott died last Thursday night at 9:15 after a long and debilitating sickness. The funeral service was held at the family residence on Friday afternoon at 4:30, Eld. John I. Reagan conducting the service. The body was laid to rest in the Presbyterian cemetery. Amy Horton was born in Cisnie, Ill., October 15, 1867. She came out to Taylor, Texas, in 1883, and in 1884 she married Mr. J. W. Elliott. They have lived most of the time since then in Williamson county. Twenty years ago she united with the Christian church and has shown her faith by an exemplary life among us. This life has now come to a close and loving hands have laid the body away in confident hopes of a resurrection. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, Mr. J. W. Elliott, three daughters, Mrs. W. H. Agnew and Mrs. Mac Oliphant of Georgetown, and Mrs. A. E. Wilson of Dallas, and one son, Mr. Clyde Elliott. Many friends sympathize with them, in which sympathy The Sun joins. Published in the Williamson County Sun, Georgetown, Texas, Thurs., Dec. 7, 1916. ~~ Amy was the daughter of Josiah Horton and Elizabeth Ann Siebert Newsom Wilhoyte Horton (death/burial unknown). Josiah and Elizabeth were married on July 13, 1856 in Bartholomew county, Indiana and were living in Marion county, Illinois for the 1860 federal census.
