Bio
Gilbert (Gil) Leroy Jesch passed away on October 21, 2021, after a brief illness. Gil was born in Stratton, Nebraska to August J. and Eleanor J. ( Waiss) Jesch and was the youngest of four children. He enlisted in the Army after high school and served for over 2 years while fighting in the Korean War. Gil had a long, successful career in the insurance industry moving his family several times throughout the Midwest as he advanced in his profession. Shortly after retiring, he moved to Myrtle Beach for warmer weather and to be closer to the ocean where he resided for the past 17 years. Gil was an avid golfer up until a few years ago and continued his hobby by watching the PGA tournaments on television. Gil was also a master bridge player and received numerous awards in recognition for his excellence in playing the game. Gil is survived by four of his five children: Dora Jesch, Ami (Jesch) Carmin, Michael Jesch, and Dennis Jesch; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and his brother, Ramon Jesch. He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Eleanor Jesch, his sister Dolores Jesch Schick, his brother Eugene (Bud) Jesch, and his daughter Mary Jesch Dunn. There is no memorial service planned and his urn will be placed in a family niche at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens in Myrtle Beach, SC.
