Bio
Carolyn "Kay" Jesch was born February 17, 1937, in Hayes Center, Nebraska, to Floyd and Gladys (Rathbun) Carmin. Kay passed away Saturday evening, December 7, 2013, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Nebraska. Kay grew up and attended school in Hayes Center, Nebraska where she graduated from Hayes Center (NE.) High School in 1954. She taught in a rural school for two years. On September 1, 1956, Kay married Gilbert Jesch and to this union five children were born: Mary, Dora, Ami, Michael, and Dennis. The family first lived in the Stratton, Nebraska, area and later they moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Kay entered nursing school and received her LPN nurse's license in 1979. She worked as a nurse in Thief River Falls for nine years. In 1988 Kay moved to Connecticut and later Pennsylvania where she continued her nursing. Kay moved back to Nebraska in 2009. Kay loved raising and spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing scrabble, gardening, painting, arranging flowers and making ceramics. Kay was preceded in death by: parents, Floyd and Gladys Carmin; daughter, Mary Dunn; nephew, infant Todd Frederick Krotter. Funeral Services for Kay will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 11:00 A.M. (CT) at Hamlet Union Church, Hamlet, Nebraska, with Pastor Kevin McGraw and Pastor Joshua Clark officiating. Inurnment was in Palisade Cemetery, Palisade, Nebraska.
