GERING --?Dolores Marie (Jesch) Schick, 81, died Wednesday (Jan. 24, 2007) at Mitchell Care Center in Mitchell. She was born July 18, 1925, to August and Eleanor (Waiss) Jesch in Beardsley, Kan. She graduated from Stratton High School in 1942 and attended and graduated from the Univeristy of Nebraska Teachers College in January 1948. She received her Masters' degree from Chadron State College in 1972. She married Robert L. Schick on March 29, 1948, in Stratton. She worked for 10 years with the USDA ASCS office. She was also a business teacher at Gering High School from 1969-1981. She was also a volunteer for Panhandle Mental Health and a treasurer of Birthright. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Schick; son Robert J Schick and wife, Joan of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brothers, Eugene "Bud" Jesch and wife, Donna of Stratton, Ramon Jesch and wife, Luan of Boulder, Colo., and Gibert Jesch of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and one grandson. A Mass of Christian burial was at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering, with the Rev. Stephen Deaver officiating. Burial followed at West Lawn Cemetery.
