2 JULY 1973 Funeral services for Max Grudzinski, 90, who died Monday afternoon, July 2 at the Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City, were conducted this Thursday morning at 10:30 at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at Paplin. The Rev. Milan Kopushar and Ray Kosmicki con-celebrated the Mass of the Resurrection with interment in the parish cemetery. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Gertrude Lukasiewicz, organist. Casketbearers were grandsons, Stanley J. Grudzinski, Isadore Jonak, Laverne Kosmicki, Richard Grudzinski, Jerome Kosmicki, and Frank Jonak Jr. Visitations were conducted Wednesday afternoon and evening with the parish rosary being recited at 8 p.m. in the chapel of the Steele-Pospisil Funeral Home. Mr. Grudzinski was born Oct.12, 1882, six miles north of Ashton, on a homestead, the son of Joseph and Theodora (Sydow) Grudzinski. He received his primary education in the Sherman County Schools and the Paplin parochial school. On Aug. 12, 1906, at Posen, he was united in marriage to Lottie Moraczewski. They farmed in Sherman County until her death in 1940. Mr. Grudzinski then moved to Loup City and for the past 20 years had made his home with a daughter, Agnes, (Mrs. Frank Jonak Sr.) at Ashton until failing health required hospitalization and for the past year, he had been a resident of Rose Lane Home. Mr. Grudzinski was a life long member of the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at Paplin. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Jonak Sr. of Ashton, Mrs. Frank (Cashmere) Kosmicki of Alliance, Mrs. Elroy (Monica) Furby of Grand Island; two sons, Louie of Watertown, Wis., and Leonard of Phillips; 41 grandchildren; 95 great grandchildren and one great great grnadchild and two sisters, Mrs. Alex (Clara) Cynova of Spruce, Colo., and Mrs. Paul (Anna) Woitaszewski of Loup City as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, two sons, three grandchildren, five brothers, one sister, one step-brother and one step-sister as well as his parents.
