Arnold Ray Reeves June 30, 1934 - January 26, 2023 Funeral services for Mr. Arnold Ray Reeves will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Mittie, with Reverend Joshua Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Mittie, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mr. Reeves, 88, of Mittie, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Lake Charles, LA. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed racing cars, boats and motorcycles. He was an avid traveler and a collector of clocks. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cephas and Lou Reeves; his beloved wife, Rusha Lynell (Cooley) Reeves; one son, Michael Ray Reeves; one daughter, Rusha Roxanne Reeves; stepdaughter, Katherine Fitch; two brothers, Kelly Reeves and Roger Reeves; one sister, Patricia McMullen; two grandchildren, Joseph Ray Deslatte and Cephas Neil Schmidt; and one granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Deslatte. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife Lois Reeves of Mittie; one daughter, Sharon (Reeves) Deslatte, and husband Rickey, of Mittie; two stepsons, Greg Smith, and wife Beth, of Sulphur, and Travis Smith of Sulphur; one stepdaughter, Charlotte Smith of Longville; two brothers, Mickey Reeves, and wife Beth, of Mittie, and Charles Wayne Reeves, and wife Betty, of Mittie; one sister, Janie Chaline, and husband Ronnie, of Mittie; four grandchildren, Joshua Deslatte, Rusha "Sissy" Sliman, and husband Justin, Shelby Cole, and Taylor Reeves; three step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; thirteen step great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Mittie, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Lawrence Rasberry, Ronnie Chaline, Joshua Deslatte, Gavin Deslatte, Shelby Cole, and Kolton Horn.
