Bio
Mrs. Margaret Jane Featherston, of Wardville, passed away early this morning in a local hospital. She had been ill but a short time. She was born Nov. 30, 1861 in Parker County, Texas, and had been a resident of the Wardville Community for the past 48 years. Her husband, Irvin Featherston, nine daughters, and two sons survive. The children are, Mrs. Mary Stone, Los Angels, Calif., Mrs. Maude Long, of Kiowa, Mrs. Alice Weathers, Lane, Okla., Mrs. Din Barnes, Marysvlle, Calif., Mrs. Ada Davis, Vinita, Okla., Mrs. Nellie Prather, Kilgore, Tex., Mrs. Rhoda Mowdy, Mrs. Elizabeth Prather, Mrs. Viola Wilson, all of Wardville, Joe Featherston and W. F. Langston, both of Wardville. Mrs. Featherston also leaves three brothers, Thomas Womack, Jacksboro, Tex., William Womack, Wingate, Tex., Isom Featherston, Foster, Oklahoma. Funeral services are to be conducted Sunday at 2:30 o'clock, at the Ashland cemetery, with Rev. Eldon Crump, of Pinkton, Texas, officiating. Burial, under the direction of Humphrey's, will be in the Ashland cemetery. (McAlester News Capital, Sept. 1, 1944)
