Elaine lived her entire life in faithfulness to her Lord, Jesus Christ. Family meant a lot to Elaine. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She served the church for several years as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Group leader, Secretary of the church, and records keeper. She was the first secretary to be hired at the College of Southern Idaho where she worked for over 30 years. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and flower gardening. Elaine was born on July 20, 1929 in Albion, Idaho to Raymond J. and Lorena V. (Miser) Kennedy. She is survived by one sister: Alice Carter of Mission Viejo, Calif., two brothers: John L. Kennedy and Clifford Kennedy of Homedale, Idaho, two daughters: Teresa R. Schell (husband Richard), of Boise, Idaho and Kathryn E. Jensen (husband Rick), of Spring Creek, Nev., three grandsons: Jake Jensen, Kenneth and Joshua Schell, and various nephews and nieces. She also had a very close friendship with Maurine Parsons. When people would ask if they were sisters, they would both answer, "Yes." She is preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Herschel Schmidt, her mother and father, and two brothers: Harold and Floyd Kennedy and one sister, Ruby. Her services will be held at Kimberly Christian Church on Monday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m., where she was a member for 65 years. There will be a viewing at the church two hours before the funeral from 9 to 11 a.m. A graveside service will be held at the Twin Falls Cemetery the following morning, Tuesday at 11 a.m. The family would like to thank the devoted ladies of XL Hospice of Boise, Homelife Care and Visions Hospice of Twin Falls. A very special thank you to those kind and thoughtful women of Aarenbrook Place in Eagle, Idaho for all the tender loving care they have given our beloved mother. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Kimberly Christian Church or Boise Bible College.
