QUANAH - Fred L. "Freddie" Carter, 60, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Elder officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Carter was born June 18, 1947, in Quanah to Ollie Marie Belcher and Fred L. Carter Sr. He married Gladys Opal Stubblefield on March 5, 1976, in Denison. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Sammie Lagrone of Quanah, Leona Brace of Oklahoma City and Glenda Zajicek and Debbie Brakin, both of Clarksville, Tenn.; three sons, Michael Carter of Electra, Steven Carter of Quanah and a stepson, Weldon Ely of Enid, Okla.; a brother, Bobby Carter of Quanah; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
