Bobby Dale Carter, age 72, of Quanah, Texas died, Sunday, January 26, 2014, in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating. Interment Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Bobby was born March 25, 1941 in Quanah to the late Fred and Ollie Belcher Carter. He lived in Quanah his whole life, joining the Army in 1959. He was a photographer overseas until 1964. He worked various jobs until going to work at Georgia-Pacific in 1971 until he retired in 2006. He married Sharon Knouse in June 1993. They enjoyed 20 years together, traveling all over the United States. He was a member of the American Legion of Quanah and an avid member of the N.R.A. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Carter of Quanah; former wife and mother of his children,Wanda "Joyce" (Shrum) Edmonds; one daughter, Suzy Evans and husband Don Pressler of Dallas; two sons, Bobby Dale Carter Jr. of Amarillo and Richard Wayland "Ricky" Carter of Quanah; 6 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren ;7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ollie Carter; two brothers, Richard Carter and Fred Lindsey Carter Jr.; and a daughter, Lisa Lashelle Carter.
