Cecil W Hale May 27, 1929 ~ October 11, 2022 (age 93) Cecil W Hale, 93, of Abilene, passed away Tuesday morning at his home. Mr. Hale was born in Frankston, Texas on May 27, 1929, to Travis and Lizzie Hale. When he was seven years old, the family moved to Roby, Texas. On December 7, 1946, he married Violet Bates where they lived and raised their children in Roby until 1970 when they relocated to San Saba, Texas. He and Violet were married for 57 years. He then married Karen Williams on May 4, 2004, in San Saba, Texas. Cecil was a self-employed carpenter. He was a master of his trade, specializing in cabinet design. He built and re-modeled dozens of homes in the San Saba area. Cecil loved music and had a God-given talent for playing his guitar. He was well known in Fisher County for his band, Cecil Hale and the Blue Valley Boys, that played various music venues. He continued with his music in San Saba forming many friendships and playing for people anytime he could. People loved his music and always remembered him for his amazing musical talent. Mr. Hale is survived by his wife of 18 years, Karen; children, Vivian (Hale) Heffernan and husband Lonnie, of Sweetwater, Rita (Hale) Spinks and husband Steve of Waco, Allan Hale and wife Connie, and Patrick Hale, all of San Saba, Texas; grandchildren, Kelly Ashford and husband David of Sweetwater, Texas, Shane Heffernan and wife, Beth, of Denton, Deenah Tompkins and husband, Scott, of North Richland Hills, Allan P. Hale of Austin, Texas, Michael Ward and wife, Sabra, of San Saba, Texas, Neal Ward and Ryan Ward of Midland, Texas, Kris Higginbotham and wife, Jennifer, Rusty Higginbotham, all of Waco, and Tyler Hale of Burnet, Texas; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Vann of Arizona, Mildred Crouch of Hamlin, Texas, Evelyn Glover of Flower Mound, Texas; four nieces, 10 nephews and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at Central Baptist Church, Hamlin, Texas, on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
