Bio

Wanda Sue White , age 72 years, a resident of Harman, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born December 18, 1943 in Fisher County, Texas the youngest of seven children, to the late Travis and Lizzie Wyatt Hale. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Kenneth White and brother, Clive Hale. She is survived by one daughter, Jodie Anglin and husband Darrell, a son, Cody Gillis and wife Rebecca, a brother, Cecil Hale, sisters, Ruth Hyatt, Helen Vann, Mildred Crouch and Evelyn Glover, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and five cats. Wanda had a love of music and was always happy to back anyone playing, especially young musicians. She was always happiest playing bluegrass with her late husband Ken. Wanda’s other passion was sewing and crafts from prom dresses to bonnets and aprons. It was said she could make a jacket out of anything, place mats and rugs. She made a coat from Walmart bags for her nephew, Kenneth. She was an extraordinary woman. Wanda would light up a room with her smile and sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. So many wonderful memories of Wanda remain. She will be missed. Her children extend many thanks to so many special friends and family including Cindy, Randy, Melissa, Dave, Jadi, Judith, Helen and especially Ken’s Aunt Louise and a host of many more. She loved them all. Wanda’s request for cremation was honored. Interment of her cremains will take place at the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 450 Randolph Ave., Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Wanda. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Wanda Sue White.
