Bio

Marie Ann Hajda Repa passed from our world to meet her heavenly Father on Dec. 14, 2014 at the age of 95. Marie was born Nov. 11, 1919 to Louis and Rosie Hajda at their farm home located east of Granger. Marie married her husband Edwin on April 20, 1948. They were married 42 years until his death in 1990. With Marie’s support, Edwin owned a home building business for over 40 years. Together they raised 6 children. Marie was a devoted wife and mother, whose main mission in life was to take care of her family. Marie is preceded in death by her husband Edwin, her parents, her sister Angeline Repa, and her great-granddaughter Reagan Marie Walker. Marie will be remembered for her strong love and devotion for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Children: Mary Ann (Mike) Miles, Doris (Danny) Carter, Loretta (Glenn) Unnasch, Edwin (Karen) Repa, Jr., Jeanette (Michael) Rozacky and Cindy (Donald) Farrell. Grandchildren: Aaron (Jennifer) Unnasch, Adam (Laura) Unnasch, Amanda (Luke) Bess, Todd (Cindi) Carter, Kristen (Dustin) Naivar, Allison (Matt) Walker, Brian (Ana) Repa, Carolyn (Chris) Finley, Ryan (Claudia) Farrell, Jenna Rozacky, and Heath Farrell. Great-grandchildren: Caden, Rylan and Boston Unnasch, Riley and Reese Walker, Alyssa, Kara and Ella Carter, Summer and Logen Bess, Kerrington Finley, Ethan Repa and Caroline Unnasch. Marie is also survived by her brothers V.J. and Louis Hajda, her sisters Agnes Bohac and Martha Cervenka. Throughout her lifetime, Marie enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, gardening and canning. She loved serving her church and community in various organizations and activities. She was a member of S.S. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church where she served as one of the first Eucharistic Ministers and a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society. She was a member of the K.J.Z.T. #18 serving as president for 20 years. She was a member of the Granger Business Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Workman, Catholic Life Organization and K.J.T. Marie spent the last nine years with her second family at the S.P.J.S.T. Assisted Living in Taylor. Her final days were spent at Will-O-Bell in Bartlett. The family would like to thank the staff at these facilities for the loving care they gave our Mother Marie. Memorials may be made to SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Celebration of Life Mass will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17 at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
