Steve J. Knebel Of El Campo Killed In Accident Oil Field Worker at Louise Killed Instantly; Machinery Falls Steve J. Knebel of El Campo, 27, oil field worker for an oil company drilling at Louise, was killed instantly Friday night when heavy machinery fell from the derrick top. Mr. Knebel was working on the floor of the derrick at the time the machinery fell. There were no other injuries. Mr. Knebel is survived by his wife and baby, mother and father and five brothers and one sister. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of El Campo Funeral Home. Burial will be in Blessing Sunday morning at 10:00 o'clock with Father Blinka officiating. Matagorda County Tribune, November 25, 1937
