MARTHA HLOZEK BLESSING - Martha Mary Hlozek, 89, passed away peacefully on Nov. 19, 2009 in The Woodlands. She was born in Holman to the late Joe and Francis Zapalac. Martha lived much of her adult life in Blessing. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America-El Campo and a member of the KJZT and SPJST. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry S. Hlozek; sisters, Mollie Miska, Justina Orsak, and Judith Zapalac; and brothers, Raymond Zapalac, Steve Zapalac, and John Zapalac. She is survived by her sons, Robert J. Hlozek and wife Carolyn of The Woodlands, Donald R. Hlozek and wife Patricia of Bryan, and Michael W. Hlozek and wife Christine of Spring; grandchildren, Laura and Mike Atchue, Robert and Jessie Hlosek, Jerry Hlosek, Brad Hlosek, and Lindsay and Justin Elliott; her three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at noon today, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with Rev. Samuel Appaisi officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hlosek, Brad Hlozek, Justin Elliott, Randy Fitch, Mike Atchue, and John Fitch. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Church or donor's choice.
