Bio

Daughter of Aroet F Taylor and Ella May (Parry) Taylor. She moved to Hinckley, UT the summer after her fourth grade school year and graduated from Hinckley High School in 1946. She had four brothers: Parry, Forrest, Darrel and Floyd; and a sister, Emily. She married Boyd Angelo John Schena on May 27, 1949. Wither her singing voice, she traveled with several High Councilmen as a teenager, had leads in school musicals, and was a member of the church choir from adolescence to the age of 89. She worked for Continental Telephone as a young adult, and again after her children reached school age. She was a member of the union and was voted in as the only female negotiator. She was the Grand Marshal of Hinckley Pioneer Days Celebration in 2020, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She a member of the Daughters and the Utah Pioneers and was a great-great-great-granddaughter of Brigham Young's younger brother, Lorenzo Dow Young. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served a mission at the Manti, Utah Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Schena; daughter, Margo Schena; granddaughter, Angel Nightingale; son-in-law, Ralph (Debra) Nightingale; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Angelo Schena.Surviving are her children, Bernadine (Lynn) Julander, Elsinore, UT, Angelo Schena, Bastrop, TX, Ree (Helen) Schena, Delta, John (Janice) Schena, Richfield, Debra Nightingale, Grantsville, and Gino (Kami) Schena, Abraham.
