Bio
Leona Mae Hervey Wade, age 87, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2008. She was born near Marlow, Oklahoma on November 27, 1920, to Merle Graham and Edwin Hervey. She was the first of six children and was a mother to her siblings. Leona graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1939. She attended the University of Oklahoma. She married Air Force Sergeant Graves P. Wade, January 11, 1942. For the next twenty years, they lived in many different places and made many friends wherever they went. They've remained in contact with their many Air Force friends over the years. Leona was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and the Larkspur Garden Club. She loved to garden, read, oil paint, quilt and do crafts. Christmas was a special time for her. She made Christmas tree decorations for her relatives and friends. Leona was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Don Hervey and a nephew, David Hervey. She is survived by her husband, Graves, of 66 years; 3 brothers, Winston and wife Dixie of Amarillo, Texas, Carl and wife Belle of Oklahoma City, OK, Robert and wife Mona, Oklahoma City, OK; and sister, Rachel and husband George Garrette of Oklahoma City, OK; and 17 nieces and nephews. Services for Leona will be held at 2:00 P. M., Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Little Chapel of the Roses, Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Oklahoma.
