Otto Henry Kubecka Caldwell, Texas Jul 5, 1928 – Oct 31, 2016 Otto was born on July 5, 1928 and passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016. Otto was a resident of Caldwell, Texas at the time of his passing. Otto was Chief Deputy for the Victoria County Sheriff's Department. During that time, he was selected to attend the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, VA. Otto also answered his nations call by joining the United States Navy and serving during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Johnnie Lee Newcomb. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Somerville. ∼ Otto was born July 5, 1928 to John Kubecka and Rosie (Courtney) Kubecka in Deanville, Texas. He married the love of his life, Johnnie Lee Newcomb on June 17, 1953. They were married for 56 years. Otto was a man who was proud to serve his community in law enforcement over a 40 year career, and was Chief Deputy for the Victoria County Sheriff's Department. During that time, he was selected to attend the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, VA. Otto also answered his nations call by joining the United States Navy and serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired to his ranch in 1991 where he loved raising cattle, calling them his "girls". He also enjoyed fishing and barbequing. Most of all, Otto loved his family and his church, First Baptist Church of Somerville, where he served as Deacon. Otto was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Johnnie Lee (Newcomb) Kubecka; brother, Jimmy Kubecka; and sister, Rose Marie Marshall. Published by Strickland Funeral Home.
