Bio
Joe Davis was married five times. First to Elizabeth (Liza) Lyon and they had two children. Second, Tempe Hodges and had two children. Third, he married Tempe's sister Lucetta Hodges and had six children. Fourth, Louisa Brown and had one child. And last he married Sarah Artelissa Short (#14443823) and had three children. My great-grandmother was the youngest (Grace Davis Fuller #81144891) of his children with Lucetta Hodges. He was married to Sarah Artelissa when he died. She is buried in Bolivar Cemetery in Denton County along with their infant. A hand-written statement told that he was buried in Clear Creek Cemetery near the Cooke and Denton county line but it has yet to be found.
