Donald R. Buchta, 80, of Leeds, North Dakota formerly of Harlow, North Dakota passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at Eventide Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake, North Dakota. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Leeds Lutheran Church, Leeds, North Dakota. Pastor Sharon Baker will officiate and burial will be at Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery, Harlow, North Dakota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home, Leeds, North Dakota. Donald Richard Buchta was born September 15, 1941, with his twin brother Duane at Maddock, North Dakota to Raymond and Selma (Solheim) Buchta. He attended school in Harlow and High School in Leeds, graduating in 1959. Donnie and his twin brother Duane started farming in 1965 and also custom combining for 25 years, retiring in 2000. Donald was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Harlow until it closed, then Leeds Lutheran Church. He was also was a member of the Elks and founder of the Harlow Wildlife Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards. Donnie married Mary Ann (Blick) Warner. Mary Ann had five young girls, LaDawn Warner, Carmen Morrison, Raelyn Mellema, Dana Haeffig and Janelle Warner Geffner. He now has ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mary Ann and Donnie later divorced. He is survived by his twin brother, Duane (Fern) Buchta and two great friends Connie (George) Braun and Deb (Jim) Schmaltz, who treated and loved him as dad. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Eileen Fevig and Diane Sauter.
