Bio

Dates from SSDI Ray Cotter, 82, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with Bob Civil officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. Mr. Cotter married Dorothy Nixon in Portales, N.M., on Oct. 30, 1948. He retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1979 after 25 years. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kevin Cotter and wife, Linda, of Canyon and Lee Cotter and wife, Carolyn, of Amarillo; a sister, Billie Simnacher of Portales; five brothers, Clarence Cotter of Tucumcari, N.M., M.J. Cotter of Littlefield, Joe Cotter of Amarillo, Howard Cotter of Abilene and Jerry Cotter of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Stephanie Williams, Toby Cotter and wife, Cheryn, Jennifer Cotter and Aaron Cotter; and four great-grandchildren, Kacey Williams, Taryn Cotter, Sydnee Williams and Neely Cotter.
